Default Who shot the moon lastnight?

Just wondering how many people went out and took some shots of the supermoon lastnight?
I tried, went down to the lake and...forgot my tripod! Smooth move, I know, but it was amazing seeing the huge group of people who showed up to the lake to take in the sight.

I did..... with the least enthusiam I have ever gathered.... drove 17.5 hours, dragged my butt out of the car. Set up, snapped 3 images and called it a night. BTW, I was driving home, not to a location to shoot the supermoon.

Moon

The first 5 images are in Myrtle Beach, SC. The last (the full moon) was shot in Oshawa just for you, Lizzy

I did. I started out at the Navarre Pier, thinking I would get a good shot there. It was too hazy so I headed home where I got some nice shots. I went to bed at 11 and then got up again at 3:00am and took some more. I wanted to get some shots while it was more to the West. I'm sorting through them all now.

I did.. Stood in my back garden.. Not so impressed with my new 70-300mm lens, it's very soft at the long end.. Was thinking of getting a much longer lens, but I'm not a twicher or anything, so I'd only use it for moon shots.. Not sure I fancy spending billions just for that.

Here are a couple of shots I took of the Supermoon.

This one was taken at 3:11am Central Time when the moon was high in the sky and more to the West

Supermoon

This one was taken around 7:30 pm Central as it was rising. The moon had a beautiful Orange glow to it.... but capturing it was not going well for me. This is cropped out far because if I crop it close, it looks horrible. I'm not sure what I should have changed to capture it nicely with the warm glow and get detail. Anyone who knows what I could have changed to capture the Orange better.... please post and let me know (I posted exif for this photo below)

Camera Nikon D90

Default Last night

I took a lot of pictures last night... around 200. I am limited in what I can do because my lens only goes up to 200. But I definitely had fun playing hiding and seek with the local skunk that likes to torture me. Last time that thing bothered me was during the Solstice Eclipse.

I am sorting through and trimming down the good images.

I definitely experimented with Shutter and Aperture settings and I think that the Shutter settings were more successful for me.
