I was lucky with a very clear night in Melbourne. Been a bit busy since so first chance to come on and post. I was amazed how much difference between what detail I was able to get when compared to previous moon shots I've tried.

This one was taken about 10.30pm here (so about 3 hours after moonrise) Tried at about 8pm but moon was too low to get a clear shot from my backyard.

Supermoon 19th March 2011

I used my 55-200mm Tamron at 200 on a 400D, so pretty happy with the result.
For anyone interested this was shot at f11 1/100s on iso100, although I got decent results with a few different settings. (mainly f16)

Some amazing shots here! Too cloudy for me to get anything good, but thank you to all who could and shared!

What I found interesting is I took pictures all week. Monday - Friday is Myrtle Beach and Saturday is Ontario. I drove 1700km and the moon looks the same as friday, but bigger

I've noticed the only real difference is the when you cross the equator it flips over. The little circle with the lines coming from it is bottom right in UK and top right in Australia.

Here's mine, it was a nice evening for it though a bigger lens would have been nice. Not as detailed as some of the others I've seen but not to worry.
