Default A New Photographers Woe

I had a new experience today. Yesterday I gave my daughter a hint on a possible shot involving the full moon. The more I thought about it I began to envision a similar shot that could be taken in my area. I left well before moonrise to find a suitable location. I found a location several hours before moonrise and got everything set up for this fantastic shot.

As I sat patiently (yea right), I noticed some wild flowers. As I have been working on an improved method for lighting macros. This seem like a good time to experiment. I got things set up with my backup body and started making a few exposures. After a short time I heard sirens. In a minute a rescue truck turned up the lane where I was. A fire truck followed, then a ambulance. They all came to a screeching halt at my truck. Seem a passer by saw me laying down on the ground taking picture and reported it to 911 as a possible dead person.

Before it was over there was a rescue truck, two fire trucks, An ambulance and ambulance support supervisor, a gaggle of volunteer firemen not to mention a couple of deputy sheriffs. One of the deputies, who has "harassed" me several times in the past walked up and said: "Oh, its you. Is there some way you can take pictures without causing a commotion?"

The question is how does one explain to a bunch of rednecks, why one would Lay down in the middle of a field and take a pictures of a weed!!

But there is more. By the time of moon rise a total cloud cover had moved in and I got no full moon image. Now you know the rest of the story.

Wow. Sounds like you had an eventful evening. To answer your question,....now, this must be said in a redneck accent as well. " You see that there flowerin weed? Well, I like it, and I think its perty. So I wanted to take its pitcher. But that lil ole weed there, it's too close to the ground. So in order to get it on its best side, I had to lay down next to it, and hope that no rattler comes up and thinks me interestin." ( I love my hills in Tennessee, but some of the people in the backwoods country are a bit,...shall we say Deliverance? )

I kinda miss Paul Harvey's radio show. I found it interesting,.. like CBS Sunday Morning.

Is it your fault that someone called the cops without actually checking that it was really a dead body? Did they say anything about that person wasting police time?
Hope you got a photo of all those "rescue" vehicles there for you

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA classic!

They're looking at you like you're stupid, you're looking at them like they're stupid, and neither one of you really has a clue what is going on!

That sucks! And here I was all upset just because of the cloud cover. At least your evening was more exciting than mine!

Don't try to explain it. Just blame it on the full moon.

This is possibly the best supermoon story I've seen so far, even though it's one of the only ones without an actual photo of the moon

This is one of those stories that I'm not sure if I should laugh or be shocked
