Default Picasa Vs. Flickr

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to photography and picked it up as a hobby about 2 months ago. I started reading this forum for tips and ways to take better pictures. Now, I've hit a stage where I'm starting to get clients for headshots. I plan to take about 100-200 shots per session and usually trash about half of them. Each raw file is <20 MB and will be converted to JPEG after processing in Lightroom/Photoshop. My question is Picasa or Flickr? Flickr is $25 unlimited but Picasa is 20GB for $5.

Flickr. Just personal preference. Don't they both have free versions? I'd say try before you buy.

You still shouldn't have 50 selects from a headshot session. I have a feeling you're still picking a lot of similar images.

I usually narrow my shoots down to 6 or 7 really good frames, regardless of how many I shot.

Thanks! Yea they both have free ones but Flickr has a 100MB limit on free while Picasa has 1GB on free. I've only shot nature and friends these last 2 months so this will be my first time moving into portrait/portfolio work. Guess I'll have to pick the 6 or 7 best

I don't know if it's because I've had my account for a while, but my free Flickr account allows 300MB per month

Uh... Picasa has a 1GB storage limit on free.

Flickr has a 300MB per month limit on uploading. In other words, there's no storage space limitation on free accounts on Flickr. You're just limited on how many MBs you can shove up into your account per month.

Don't know if anyone else has used deviantArt, but there is no limit on uploads or storage.
(well, no limit on total amount of uploads, each file can't be bigger than 30MB)

O thanks. Guess that answers it. Flickr for port and Picasa/FB for friends.

Flickr has a 100 image limit. I know cos I upgraded to pro because I reached the limit.

Don't know if it's available for download, but Picassa doesn't seem to have a native plug-in for Lightroom, Flickr allows publication direct from Lightroom, which I like.

I like the layout of Flickr, but to be honest, I wouldn't use either for advertising, I'd link to the pictures and use them in a professional website.

Do you want to upload the full size jpeg? Very hard to control who is taking that file and when.
You should upload low res and let them order the hi-res.
