Default The F.I.L.M. project

Hey guys,

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this here. I looked through all of the stickies and couldn't find anything, so if this needs to be moved or removed completely... please feel free to do so, and bonk me on the head.

A good friend of mine started a non-profit organization a few months ago called the F.I.L.M (Family Images for Lasting Memories) project.

In short, we are a non-profit that donates professional family portraits to cancer patients or other terminally ill patients through a network of volunteer photographers on a nationwide scale. We believe that in sharing our gifts we can inspire healing, faith, and hope to these families during their most fragile times.

We are looking for volunteer photographers to donate their time and services to these patients in need. If you are interested, the links to apply are below.

As a cancer survivor myself, this is something very near and dear to my heart. If you have a heart for giving or if you're just curious about how we work, our links are listed below for you. Even if you are just getting started, it wouldn't hurt to apply. There are a huge range of positions available besides a volunteer professional photographer - ranging from post processing to assistants.

Just thought I would share. Thanks for looking.

I think it's an awesome idea. I think it would likely be heartbreaking most of the time, and I'm not sure that I'd be a strong enough person to be involved in it. However, my hat is off to those who are.

I agree!
I decided to volunteer because as a survivor, I can relate to what these folks are going through. I KNOW the feeling of uncertainty and the realization of how fragile life really is. It is so heartbreaking.
I have not had my first session yet, but when I do, I am sure there will be many hugs and probably a few tears.
