Default My New Ride.

Went car shopping yesterday. My 96 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with 176,000+ miles on it was ready to be traded. It was time to put it out of it's misery. ( They'll probably resale it anyways. ) It needed so much work done to it, that it was practically cheaper just to get something new. I've had two cars in my life,... first one was a 92 Chevy Corsica. Second was the Olds. They were both at least 10 years old when I got them. This time,... NO!

Say hello to Ruby!
DSC_0024

Ruby is a 2010 Chevy Cobalt LT. The first 4 cylinder car I've had, because they were so underpowered until recent years. She will get up and go like a V6, and practically handles like shes on rails. Only a couple of things that I miss about my Olds, that this one doesn't have. No cruise control, the stereo could have better sound, but its not too bad. ( I'm used to premium sound in the Olds. ) Which can be changed later, if I so desire. It's a sub compact, and I'm used to something bigger. Ruby has a better turning radius though. Think I'm going to get some touch-up paint for a few small scratches. Got a good price on it. Checked KBB and the CPO on it is more than the sticker price I'm paying. Payments will be less than $300 a month, and when I filled her up today, it only cost me about $30.

You people know before my husband,... lol. But it's my car that was traded. One that I had before him, and it's my paycheck that will pay for it Just had to share.

( Eric- I turned the wheels before I took this shot, and thought of you. lol )

Congratulations! I'm not a Chevy fan, but if you can't get a Ford, this looks like a good one.

Why would she want a Ford? Just have to end up pushing it more often than driving it

Don't let this idiot get you down, the Cobalt is a good car. It was the replacement for the Corsica and the Cavalier.

Ever wonder why chevy hasn't changed their motor line up in any significant way? Because it friggin just works.

It's a good all around drive around town and road trip car.

Have fun

I have an 04 z71, the MIL keeps flashing, the ABS light just came on, the 4wd is fried. (My fault), and it is nasty (s/o's fault). It is supercharged, which is kind of fun when I get next to an unsuspecting Mustang who wants to rev on me. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I have always been a Chevy fan, and always will be. I owned an 84 full size Bronco, and a 99 F150 at one time, and they were the biggest pos's I have ever owned.

Congrats on the new car FG!

My last Ford was a POS. It was a 2005 4x4 Explorer that I think had every option offered.

I bought it used, and after about 6 months the trans started acting up, and the electrical system had a bug in it somewhere.

My "EX" wife decided to drive it into the woods back last December doing 70 MPH, and totaled it. She never got a scratch.

Was cool that my insurance company gave me $11,700 for it, and I only paid $10,200.

Congrats on the new car, and the picture you took of it.

Thanks guys. I'm a Chevy girl,... that's why I went with the Cobalt. It was funny,.. that day I was wearing my Chevy shirt. It's got a pin up girl on the front, and the Chevy logo behind her. My Dad had an old Silverado that would not die. The bottom rusted out before the engine died. My first car the Corsica, it still ran when I got rid of it. It looked like hell, but it would still go. I think it had over 200,000 miles on it. That's why I like Chevy. Good ole American made machines that never seem to die.

I thought you'd like that Eric. lol

One of my fave colors is red. I might take a shot of my husbands and my car next to each other. They look like his and hers. His car is a red Kia Spectra 5. We both like Red.
