Default Photography Projects.

I've been wanting to start a new Photography Project. A certain subject or something like that. I really have no idea at the end of the day but I was wondering if we could make a big list of a bunch of photography projects/ideas and stuff.

I have a list so far of little projects or inspiration projects :

1) Project 365 – We’ve all heard of it. 1 picture a day, for 365 days a year. I’ve attempted this a few times, and always get busy, or distracted, etc…

2) Take one picture every hour for an entire day – I’ve done this before. It’s pretty fun actually. Especially if you’re on a road trip or doing something interesting.

3) Take one picture of your feet/shoes every hour for an entire day – A spin off of the last idea, but fun non-the-less.

4) Take one picture a week for 52 weeks – One picture a week for an entire year. Little less stress than the 365.

5) Find an interesting object, and photograph it from as many angles as you can – Try this one with an egg, and a white background. It’s hard.

6) Photograph Strangers – Tons of really awesome work has come out of projects like this. Mind your manners.

7) Lock yourself in a room and shoot 50 different images with no duplicates – I tried a small bathroom in my house. Tres hard!

8 ) Try to photograph the alphabet in everyday life – You’ve probably seen this one done before. Really awesome concept!

9) Shoot a set of the primary colours or whatever colours and make a collage (Red, Blue, Yellow, etc..) – Or take a month for each colour. You’ll have an awesome project by the end of it.

10 ) Create (or re-create!) an advertisement photo. (windex, vodka, etc..) – Try to get the lighting right, the angle right, the feel right. Harder than it sounds.

11) Try shooting without looking at live-view or through the view finder – See what you come up with.

12) Bokeh – This one is more a personal project of my own. It’s so simple, and can be so gorgeous.

13) Join a photography forum – A lot of forums now do weekly assignments, Great way to get you out and doing something.

You could pick your favourite music album (or any album) and do a series of photos based on all the song titles or the lyrics of the songs that feature on that album..

Think about messages you want to say - and figure out how to photograph them

Find something about the world you find interesting - and capture that in as many places as you can find it.

Find a place that changes alot - and make a photographic log of those changes.

chose and abstract concept and try to make photographs that evoke that concept

Find something that disturbs you or puts you outside of your comfort zone, and photograph it. (Phobias are good for this, different genres of photography that you arent good at are good for this ... etc.)

Hopefully those are specific but general =D infinite projects!
Really though - I think subject matter is just as important as composition.
