Default So what's your bag layout

Just looking to see how people organize themselves.... seeing if there are some creative & wonderful ideas that I can shamelessly steal.

Here is how I am currently laid out:

Wait.... all your stuff fits in there?!

I have 2 FULL pelican cases of stuff... and there's still stuff left over for a 3rd or possibly 4th case.

I'm not at home, will upload a pic later. I have three main bags. The big one is a Gura Gear Kiboko, huge, double-compartment backpack, designed for the overhead bin on an RJ145. Gets reconfigured constantly for whatever I'm doing. International multimedia travel has very different requirements (antibiotics and CANDY!) than sports shooting (it'll fit a 300/2.8 easily). Monopod/tripod straps to the outside.

My sort of daily runabout is a Lowepro Stealth Reporter 400 (fits perfectly under the seat on an RJ145). D700 + 24-70 goes lens-first into the middle for easy grab and go. 70-200 goes on the right, D300 body opposite, primes and batteries in the lower left and right compartments. Battery grip in the middle compartment under the D700 grip. I think I actually managed to get a D300, D700, D3s and the holy trinity in there by taking out the grip and primes. Bag was heavy as a mother though.

I also have a little Lowepro for traveling light. One body with 24-70 or a couple primes and I'm out the door. Still has room for a spare battery and cards.

I garage my stuff in a Pelican 1614. This case rarely leaves the house since it takes 2 men and a boy to transport it.

I normally carry a Domke F2 or use a Lowepro Fastpack 350 if I need my laptop. I have a Pelican 1500 if I'm going by boat somewhere.

You just can't have one camera bag.

My bag looks a lot like Scott's.

Sadly the contents do not match up. One body, two lenses and a gorilla pod.
I have lots of room to fill up.

You mean one bag to carry everything?
Can't get there from here.....
The killers are the 300-800 f/5.6 and 500mm f/4.3...

I normally keep most of my gear in a pelican 1514 and pick/choose the gear/bag/vest etc for the job at hand. My pelican stays locked in the bed of Avalanche.... Usually have the body, 70-200, 28-70, 300-800 up front with me....in fact, they are in my truck now.

Mine's like Scotts too although I have a smaller bag that I just take what I need and use that. Saves using my poor suffering husband as a donkey!

MaxHarvard - Typical, everything you have is bigger, better, newer, more expensive etc etc than everyone else. You just can't stop yourself from bragging can you? Like they say "its not the size of the boat that counts but the motion of the ocean". Think about it.
