Default Something to cheer you up...

I was just reading the editorial in the March edition of the Digital SLR Photography magazine I picked up in the news stand here for a huge markup, and wanted to share with you the sentiments of the editor, it made me smile I'll paraphrase..

"with today's news, with unemployment up, petrol up, and VAT up, it seems that the only thing down is our spirits.... But as photographers we know something others don't, which keeps us going regardless of the economic climate....

"We know what how it feels to watch the sky turn gold as the sun drops towards the horizon at the end of the day; we know what it's like to wait for the perfect moment when your child provides you with that illuminating smile, we know what it's like getting close to nature. Best of all we know what it's like to capture stunning images of all these simple pleasures."

He goes on, and it's worth the read, but I won't steal his words any more, I just wanted to wish you a happy day clicking away and enjoying your hobby or profession with a smile. No matter what hardships we have in our lives, this simple pleasure provides us with an escape.

Have a nice day

Yup, I know I certainly appreciate sunsets etc more now than I did before I discovered photography.
Last week I was working in the devastation of Christchurch and amongst the photos of broken buildings and flooded streets that I took is one of a beautiful sunset - always some beauty somewhere.
