Default Good news and bad news...

I had one of those YAY... followed by Awe man! moments this week! Monday I got my new Sigma 18-200mm in the mail..... (YAY!)... and it was a bad one (Awe MAN!) I took it out, and started shooting outside, it was SO SOFT! Nothing was clear.. I thought maybe it was just me not used to it or something, so I took my son out for a mini shoot, no way it was me... not one sharp photo! So I called Adorama back (They have GREAT customer service BTW!) They are sending me a replacement and me sending this one back. If that one isn't good I am going to just spend a little extra and get a Nikon one.

BUT... I also got my 35mm 1.8 in the mail today and it is my new favorite!!! I grabbed my son and shot a few pics, they are SO SHARP!! magnified 200% in photoshop to see how sharp... and WOW I am very pleased with this lens!!!

I'm glad it will be working out for you and I hope the next copy is a sharp one

Anytime you are asking a lens to cover that type of range (18-200?!?!) you can expect that it will not be the sharpest tool in your bag. You may not be happy with any lens that you get...

That said... Sigma has been known to have Quality Assurance issues from time to time and it is possible that you got a bad one.

Good Luck!
