Default I'm in Hampton VA.... Must see?

I'll be here into Friday. Anything in the area that is a must see/ photograph?
Thinking about seeing Williamsburg, but seems like it might be a bit too tourist oriented....
Considering an area wildlife refuge for Birds etc but I think most birds are still in the south...

I'm open to pretty much anything that can be done in an afternoon.

I think "touristy" historical areas with re-enactors can be a gold mine, especially if you like taking "candid" portraits.

I havn't been that part of the world, however if it is any thing like other "living" museums it would be great.

Fort Monroe Army Basy. Its one of the oldest in the US. I worked at the bowling alley there a few years back.
and you can see the Norfolk Naval Base from there with all the Aircraft carriers. An awesome site for sure.

The Mariner's (or maritime?) Museum isn't too far.

Williamsburg is actually worth a visit for a day.

If you feel like heading over to Virginia Beach, then First Landing State Park, Fort Story, and the Edgar Cayce Association for Research and Enlightenment are all awesome. Especially the latter. They have this gorgeous meditation garden in the rear of the building. I just love that place. Although...it may not be as gorgeous in February.
