The way I read it is that if you shoot film they don't expect you to send in the negatives to prove that you took the picture. If you shoot digital then they want the printed picture as well as the digital file to prove you shot it and possibly to use for their website or promotional purposes.
Why not scan in the photo and send them a CD if you shot film? No idea. Maybe they'll scan it in themselves from the print? edit: I'd ask the contest organizers what they mean. No such thing as a stupid question in my book.

No clue but I seriously doubt it.

It sounds to me like they want you to send in a print of the photo(s) you want to submit, but also the file saved on a CD to prove that you took it, like oldwolf said. Id say send them both a print, and the file saved on a CD.
As for the panoramic, a professional printing service could probably do it justice. |

Yeah that's what I take from it. Film prints with no negatives or digital prints send in the original - maybe they want to see what kind of post production has been done?

Depending on the image and who's looking at it, yes. Even a clean digital image has a different feel to it than something shot on 50 speed Velvia or Tri-X 100.

Yup........most can tell if it came from either a print or a digital camera. Most likely they
will open the image up and check the capture info embedded in the image.
