Default What I hope to get out of this year.

Well, thats actually a very broad subject. Most importantly my husband back, safe and sound, and in one piece. ( Not that I'd love him any less if he was missing a piece, as long as he was still alive. ) Uncle Sam took him from me today. He better give him back.

So, I've tried to focus on the silver lining. More money to save, I can focus on my photography to keep me busy and distracted, I do have a good friend here whos husband is in the same unit, as well as friends and family back home that are loving and supportive.

What I hope to get from this year in photography:
A grasp on how to extensively use my camera.
At least one more lens.
Lightroom 3, and how to use it.
Maybe a lighting kit
This huge reflector in the Ritz catalog
To better my photography.

If I get more than that, then fantastic!

All I want is an 85mm f/1.8 USM

I'm on my way to having a dual flash, soft box lighting kit to work with. Going to be fun!

Praying for the safe and healthy return of your loved ones.
I hope you learn alot from photography. In the cold dreary weather I have been studying about using my Nikon D90 and D7000 in more constructive ways. In my signature is a link about Crime Scene Photography that has several chapters on composition, camera and flash settings. It explains in more detail about aperature and shutter settings in great detail than most books I have read. Hopefully in warmer weather I can put some of this education to work in my landscapes and portraits.
Stay safe and stay healthy please.

I also looked at your great photos that brought back some memories from my childhood days, the brownie camera, and train pictures. We owned a brownie and when Dad was in the army during WWII, Mom and I traveled a lot on trains to see Dad in Fort Knox Kentucky before he went to the Philipines for a short stay.

Thanks for the well wishes.

@ TheEagleSpirit: I'll have to check out that link. Thanks for the comments about my photos. I've got a fascination for the history here in this part of Texas.
