Default The furthest I've travelled "just" to take photos:

One year ago today, I took the picture I've always dreamt of taking:

The closest I've been to God

A friend and I had been planning and saving up for a trip around the US for several years, and last spring we spent six weeks traveling from Seattle to Key West. Photographing wasn't the sole purpose of our trip, but definitely a big part of it! We took about 20.000 pictures, and I'm still working on the post processing.

Before we left home (=Norway), I had fantasized about taking the picture above - and the amazement of seeing Monument Valley with my own eyes, and to capture it with my own camera must be my happiest photo moment ever.

My second "dream shot" was shot a few days earlier. Living in a country of mountains and fjords, it's amazing to drive through vast, open land like this:

Infinity

All in all, we drove a total of 5000+ miles. In addition, we took two trans-atlantic flights (back and forth from Norway), two inland flights (NY-Seattle and Miami-NY) and two AmTrak-trips (Colorado-Chicago and Chicago-Boston). Quite a long journey!

(If anyone wants to read about our trip, we have blog at www.selma-n-louis.com. Alas, we haven't even managed to finish the journal - but it's coming! You can also se more of my favorite shots from the trip at my flickr stream)
