Default To study dog conformation.....

I'll travel 3,000 miles to go to the Great Dane Nationals on the other side of the country in order to photograph Great Danes I am interested in. Nothing helps more than taking pictures of an entire line of dogs in a pedigree I am researching. And the movie option on my camera allows me to study the dog's movement. If an animal is not put together well, it can't move correctly. My photo library reinforces the judgements I have made on individual dogs and entire breed lines. My camera is a much more accurate tool than my memory.

i went on a cruise to alaska for taking photos.

after being gone for 7 days i came away with 2400 photos to dig through and edit.

sadly i've not edited many of them because i'm never happy with the end result most of the time. but i'll share the few i have uploaded to flickr.

hope you folks enjoy them

Kind of hard for me to say.. I've travelled to Europe, Australia, Africa, Ecuador, and many other places, with photography being first and foremost in my mind, however I also went to experience cultures, see animals, famous cities, etc.. so its not really just to take photos.
So I guess I'd have to say under 100, as thats the farthest I've gone to get a photo without any other purpose

it was one of the best trips of my life. i've been to Scotland a few times, but never with the primary intent of shooting. mainly to visit family and such.

the trip to alaska though was just for photography and i loved every day of it.

I haven't really travelled anywhere just for a photo opportunity. I'm new to photography, though, so that may change.

I try to take my camera wherever I go and take pictures of anything I find interesting or inspirational. Or at least take a picture of anything for practice :P

This would be like asking how far have I traveled, I don't go anywhere without taking the camera and looking for a shot, it drives my wife crazy always having to wait for me.

By me it's all about lacking time.
It happened only a couple of times that I had the time to get out to take a nice shot. Hopefully I will find some time in the future. So the most pictures I take are family pictures!
