emDusty: lol how funny! I'm sure if you'd added up the up and down bits of your trek you would've been able to add in a few miles

ewie: I hate your life too, I wouldn't mind a photography trip to Queenstown Though those Simpsons suits are kinda freaky

In that case, I'm going for 500+ miles. My hand luggage was pretty much must my camera and that says a lot what I aimed for (and achieved) with the trip.

I don't really "travel to take photos" I travel and take my camera, I take my camera to work, I take it on holidays... heck, i've taken it to the bathroom.

when we holiday, my main thing, these days, is the photo aspect... So, i guess, I took my camera home when I went at Christmas... ok, so, 16,913kms?...

The furthest we have traveled for photos is over 7,000 miles (14,000 round trip) by car, plane, train and boat.

The family traveled to Norway in January of 2007 (to get a family photo at Nordkapp) and also to get photos of the Northern Lights. Tip, if you want to get Northern Lights photos, don't try it from the deck of a moving ship.

I lived in Atlanta Ga in 1998 and I would take a couple days off and drive to Savannah Ga and cross the line into South Carolina and photograph birds, rabbits and gators at The Pickney Island National Wildlife refuge. I would work my shift at the restaurant and then drive from Atlanta to Savannah in the middle of the night, get there about 5am to wait on sunrise to photograph the critters. Man, were those ever the days!!

Awww. Seventeen-years doesn't give you a lot of leeway, but it's safe to say I haven't traveled further than under 10 miles from my home so far. Most things come about not because I'm going for photography (but, I must say, it's quite a welcome to be able to actually get out and shot something you didn't expect).

btw: Beautiful pics ShepArt! Love the first filled with photogs =)

I've never traveled far for photography, mainly because I don't even have a car yet.
The furthest away from home where I took pics must be New York city/Boston (I live in the netherlands), but I didn't go there JUST to take pictures.
Besides, most of my pictures there didn't even got taken really... I had put the film in my camera incorrectly, leaving it unused I guess that's why I like digital better now

I plan weekends just to get photos. Last weekend I went to Pismo Beach, California to take photos of the sand dunes, Hearst Castle, Cambria, seals, etc. I love going away, or returning to places that I like to shoot. Towards the end of May I am going to Yosemite for five days. Looking forward to it.

Default 20 hours in a car

When I lived in San Diego I always wanted a night picture of the city but never got one. Last summer that became my goal when I left Dallas Texas and headed west....20hrs. later I got the picture of the skyline I've always wanted. It was awesome!
