Default Book recommendations

So I am going to be getting some books to learn more about photography. Particularly learning about GIMP. Any recommendations for composition, exposure, lighting, etc? Thanks!

Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. You might be able to find it used at a local used book store. Search their specific section for other things that might interest you. I picked up the Photography Bible by Daniel Lezano. It's ok,...but wasnt as much as what I was expecting it to be. Still a good one though.

As far as Gimp goes,... its pretty simple to figure out once you figure out what things do what. The manual thats in the Help tab at the top of the screen can help too. As well as searching Google for Gimp tutorials. I suggest making a copy of a photo that you have and playing with it in Gimp. The Light tab under filters is a fun one.

Good luck!! I'm a Gimp user, although not proficient at it. So I might be able to answer some questions,..but the links I posted below look like a couple of good ones.

Did a Google look-up for books on Gimp. Heres what I came up with,...

Amazon.com: Used and New: Grokking the GIMP

Amazon.com: Gimp: The Official Handbook: Learn the Ins and Outs of Gimp from the Masters Who Wrote the GIMP User's Manual on The Web (0788581052020): Karin Kylander, Olof S. Kylander: Books
