Hey everyone... Last night I took a step I would not have expected 6 months ago and signed up for a Twitter account. I am still somewhat skeptical about it, but figured it was worth a go as analytics show that some of the traffic at my blog/website are coming from Twitter folks.
I'm curious to learn how any of you have used Twitter and how you have gained your following aside from emailing friends and putting twitter badges on your sites. I'll be doing that shortly myself ,but I suspect that there is more to it that that! Thanks in advance for your wisdom and advice! BTW - my twitter account is bluelionphotos

Just added you
![]() I really don't see the point in Twitter as a whole. It's basically facebook with only the status and nothing else. I've found recently though that it isn't bad for news and feedback, mainly because of the hashtags are searchable and anyone can find your comment - unlike facebook statuses. Because of that I've had alot more interaction with local businesses who retweet my comments and what not. I also find that I have a deferent crowd between twitter and facebook. It's of little effort to me to do too, I have a "media" network setup so that my Twitter feeds from my facebook which feeds from my website. So I update the site, fb and twitter get updated automatically. I can also bypass the website and post to facebook only, twitter only or facebook and feed to twitter. So from that point of view it's easy to impliment. Check out Hootsuite.com too. Install Chrome, setup a Hootsuite account and you can turn the "web interface" into a pseudo desktop application. You can then stream in all media content into the one window. So I have 5 columns. My twitter news feed, my facebook news feed, twitter fed tech news, twitter fed photography news and twitter mentions (people talking about me). I also have Linkedin but dont use that yet. From my experience; Twitter can be summed up in 2 words: "Rumour Engine". It's quick and easy to spread news - ridiculously infact.
