As back in the days I remember release forms were to be completed by people who had their picture taken for the use of any kind of publication. Now, due to all the social networks out there I am wondering if this is still so. Pictures are posted to FaceBook, MySpace etc...all the time.
If I started a business (Memory Lane) as being a photographer and wanted to use some of my photos that are on MY FaceBook page, would I need release forms completed by those subjects? Thank you |

I think if you are using the photos for your business, for commercial and promotional purposes, a release, or at a minimum, an OK from the subject(s), would probably be required. But, as they say, " a verbal OK is about as good as the paper it's written on."
(disclaimer: I could be wrong on this, and would welcome other opinions)
