Talking Soooo excited

First, let me say that I am a newbie to the world of DSLR photography and have LOTS to learn...My first DSLR is a Nikon D3000 which I know is child's play to most of you but I am thrilled to have it because money is something my family does not have much of!

I love my new camera! I also got an 18-55 mm lens with the camera so it is also something new to play with since I have only had point and shoot cameras before!

I also found some classes to take locally by a photographer of some great skill! The first class is tomorrow (weather notwithstanding) and it is on Basic Lighting! There will be more classes as the year goes by and they only cost $15 each class! The classes are located in Hindman, KY about 20 miles from me and are in the Kentucky School of Arts if you want to look it up! The instructor is Danielle Watts and everything I hear and see of her she is really good!

I am hoping to upgrade my cameras and purchase some lighting equipment as money allows!

YIPPEE

Comments welcome!

Wanda

Congratulation and welcome. Lighting yes but I wouldn't upgrade your camera any time soon. Upgrade your lenses. They will last many more years than a body will.

Lots more to buy, no money to spend.

Thanks guys...any recommendations as to what lenses I would need? I hope to pursue mainly portrait photography with natural lighting as possible but am interested in all types of photography including landscapes and weather photography!
