This part of the terms is enough for me to not even considering using the service:

8. Use of Your Content.

1. Adobe does not claim ownership of Your Content. While my pictures surely aren't fine art, I don't like the idea of giving them for free for any type of usage to Adobe...

Ok to edit and repost my photos on DPS. Actually, it's highly appreciated.

Its only for pictures you make public in the album. Still, I understand one's reluctance to partake now, more than I did before seeing this on CNET...

A comment on Gizmodo pointed out this part of the Terms of Service (section 8a)

"with respect to Your Content that you submit or make available for inclusion on publicly accessible areas of the Services, you grant Adobe a worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable license to use, distribute, derive revenue or other remuneration from, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly perform and publicly display such Content (in whole or in part) and to incorporate such Content into other Materials or works in any format or medium now known or later developed."

Which is something that Adobe is hopefully addressing soon.

As a side note, I'm going to bring these two Photoshop express threads together to keep the discussion in one place

As far as it free thats good. I was looking at Photoshop for PP but its darn expensive for how little I would be using it. Is there a good PP that handles layers and costs less then a good lens? ( 600.00 )

I prefer not to sway anyone. What I found offensive, so might not. By the same token other might find something offensive that I did not.

I tried to download (or join) this, but it says only available in the United States, and it wants a "personal sharing URL" whatever that is.
I see from the above posts people in U.K. have been able to get it. Am I missing something? Douglas

douglas,

I live in Italy and was able to register. My IP address has prevented me from viewing content on the internet hosted in the USA from time to time (ex: streaming content from abc.com or netflix), so I was surprised I was able to register. Perhaps Adobe has (sadly) put a filter for specific IP addresses or regions? A quick search engine query shows a mixed bag of registration results for our Canadian friends.
