Default Enough Gear??

Interestingly enough I really have hit a point in which I have all the gear that I need. I say that need loosely. Have you hit a point where you reasonably have all the gear you need?

I just bought a big toy chest to put my photo gear in......have never been very good at selling stuff as that involves effort and I'm lazy Not that I'm adding much to it these days as my 65mm is usually on the camera and eveything else gets left at home so I rarlely want new gear.

Worked out the other day that I had 3 standard zooms but have only used one of them in the last 3 years. And even at that I've only used it twice for family snaps. One I've never used in 4 years other than to check it works and the other hasn't been used in around 6 years. What's the point in getting a new one

Not a chance. I want more and more gear. I am always looking to get faster glass, just cannot afford it. With the speed of technology I think you can be wanting more for ever. I guess I have enough gear to do what I want though, so I am satisfied, but still wanting.

Nope! I only just got a DSLR so a long way to go before I reach that point. I have just picked up a couple of 'vintage' lenses on ebay for around £50 so I'm off to a good start I think

Well, I "need" more glass (a good macro, an 85 f/1.4, 70-200 f/2.8, 500 f/4) ... but what I really need is more skill and talent.

Need? no. Want? Maybe.

At this point I've got everything i need covered. I dont need any different focal lengths. I'm going to start working on getting better coverage of what I have (Ie replacing my midrange with a better one).

Other than that, I'm fairly well covered really.

I thought owning horses for many years was bad......There is better/more horse stuff to buy and replace. Now that I got a new dslr, it has opened up a world of depth in taking beautiful "lifelike" pictures and having the equipment and knowledge necessary to reach that level, neverending. It's like a vortex! Here we go!!!!!

Need is such a relative term... I have some stuff and I make do with it but there is so much more I want, more studio lights and modifiers, couple of speedilghts, faster lenses, selection of prime lenses, portable background, new body, extra body, FF body (or 2), lenses for all of them....really the list could be endless but like my quote says 'Lots to buy, no money to spend'

My biggest issue is planning a decent priority order. I can't afford the best right now and I am not sure I am going to stay with Sony in the future so I am trying to buy wisely. Buy stuff that can be used with all camera systems and can be used later down the road to complement higher end gear I may buy.
