Hello all!

I'm just getting into photography, feel like it was be a great hobby for me and avenue to express myself. If I enjoy it as much as I think I will, I hope to eventually have it as more than just a hobby.

I have been researching a lot as far as cameras and lenses and I've decided to go w the Nikon D90. My issue now comes with finding the right lense. Does anyone have any good advice on what is a good lense to start with?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

First, welcome to DPS! Start with the kit lens, and get to know how to use the camera with that. I will tell you though, that I wish I had gone with something more telephoto than the 18-55mm that came with my D3100. I've noticed that for the type of photography that I do most of the time, I need something that can zoom in further than my current lens.

It really depends on what type of photography your looking to get into. If you want to go portrait/ kinda macro, a nifty fifty is a good choice. If you want a full range for landscapes or cityscapes, an 18-200mm might be good for you. Its all relative to what you enjoy shooting.
