Default Artist's Way.. by Julia Cameron..

Hi

I've been in photography for a few years now but second half of 2010 was pretty disappointing for me. I just couldn't get enough ideas/motivation to go out and take pictures for some reason. This is strange though cos I'm finally at a stage where I can take reasonably good pictures. I've even been able to sell a few pictures at macro stock site. But motivation has waned a bit but I'm keen on bringing it back on track. So coming to the topic, has anyone read Artist's Way by Julia Cameron? I think it's one book that may get my excitement going again. What were your thoughts if you've read it? Is it applicable to photographers?

Cheers

The Artist's Way can be applied to anyone, really. My interpretation of it is that it's all about unclogging the creativity stream to help a person be more creative, more insightful, and it doesn't matter if the person is an artist (photographer, writer, painter) or not (surgeon, business person, entrepreneur).

Would you recommend me purchasing the book and going through that 12 wk program? Did you get much from it?

Personally, My "excitement" had waned a log time ago....I dont take a lot of pictures because the outcome is known.....To some extent I wish I didn't know the outcome.....maybe then I would give it a chance and be proven wrong....I will say regardless of what you think you know, you can always learn something new...

Yes. Yes.

Which reminds me that I should go through it again. It really helped me with unlocking creativity. My focus at that point was writing fiction, but really, it doesn't matter what your creative focus is.
