Default Kinda lame :(

Not that its a big deal I guess but I have been reading these forums for over a year and about six months ago I joined up so I could post. I didnt have access to the nude section and I agree with the reason we dont want any perv off the internet have access but for a while I have been looking for some new lenses and I check back every once in a while on these forums too see what members have for sale.

Well today I see access has been taken away and changed so that i ahve to have at least 100 post to view it? Im not a big talker and i kinda feel like I dont want to flood the forums with useless comments for the sake of gaining access to either a higher rank or sub forums.

Any ways thats my little rant so i guess IF there was anything for sale i could have used I dont have the option to even see it unless i start making tons of comments...

That aside i really do enjoy these forums a lot theres tons of great people here and its been a very useful resource.

What?? A password for the "Gear For Sale" forum??? I guess I missed that, not paying any attention lately...

And I was just going to check that forum for a used nifty fifty. Guess I gotta go talk to Sime... *sigh*

Perhaps the admins could tweak the permissions a little and allow all users to read/post responses, but not start new threads until they've been around a while.

This could prevent the new user/scammer from joining and immediately posting a fraudulent sale, while still allowing people to look for deals and negotiate a purchase should they want to.

What's really lame is people with no posting history offering to sell things and then just stealing the buyer's money which is what happened recently.

^^That sounds like a good idea IABoomer. It's a lot tougher for buyers to scam sellers. Maybe the restrictions should be mainly for new sellers.

I don't mind the access requirement, but how does one get the password?

Woah didn't know that people were being scammed can see why they'd restrict it but agree restrict posting not viewing.

It's my fault...

First of all - Send SIME a PM and he'll hook you up with a password.

Now - to make a long story short, I PayPal-ed a payment to a guy with 1 post who had listed some goodies for sale. He's got my money (still does) and has yet to ship the lens. He immediately stopped communication once he had my funds. Even though, up until that point, we had been communicating/negotiating 3 and 4 times per day.

It's presently in dispute thru PayPal - I'll know more on 13 January.

I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing. I wish it never happened.

Anyway - send Sime a message.

Regards,
Bakeys
