I wanted to know the opinions of the community here on a imposed waiting period for posting. Exactly what I mean is when a person signs up for an account they must wait a period of time (imposed by the system) before they can post. I think this would stop the occasional spammer or covert hypnotist.
Just a suggestion that maybe the moderation team can make use of. ![]() I had an Urbex site do this and I felt that it was ok.

The occasional spammers we get are dealt with swiftly and with the help of you all as reporting the posts. I agree, if I had to wait to post after registering, with the exception of an email validation, I don't bother with a forum.

I agree with the sentiments already stated that I'd not bother with a site that imposed a waiting period on me. After all, it's not like I'm buying a gun....even if the keyboard (pen) is mightier than the gun (sword)
![]() just my 2 cents worth.

It's kind of a silly requirement. I understand the point of validating an account through an email message, but forcing someone to wait will only drive people away. Spammers can easily be dealt with by having their posts blocked or their accounts deleted. Please don't punish everyone just for the sake of controlling spammers.
