I'd personally go there in during the holiday season. It can be cold but the lights, sounds and decorations are a great photo op.

I've only ever been twice, once in march and the other in August. Both were lovely. March was cold and wet, and I'd almost be tempted to do a late April/early May trip instead. June and July are just too damned hot: even at the end of August it was quite warm. You could go a bit later and hit sort of a early/mid September.

Weather-wise, I'd say April.

Early May or early Sept are great times. Having grown up there and now living in NJ I would say the best time to go there is NEVER, I really rather go to Missouri
![]() Why don't you do some research as to what other thing you might want to see and do are happening at various times. Check on rates, etc.... There really is no bad time. As others said the winter decorations are great. The 4th of July fire works in the river are unreal too. Fleet week when all the naval ships are there is very interesting too.

After the polar icecaps finish melting. Then you should be able to get there directly by boat. I like snorkeling and underwater photography....

I was born and raised in NYC. You can find great photo ops year round. However, if you want to go when the weather is most temperate, I would suggest late May or sometime in June. The weather can actually still be cool in early May sometimes. Have a wonderful time!
