Default On location... of things.

Let's just say that writing a book in a giant pain.

Not only does all the information have to be 100% factually correct. You have to scour every little bit of information to add pictures too.

Here's a pic of my latest project, a book about cars and engines. I working with one of the top automotive guys in the field on the subject and here's part of his shop that we took over to photograph some of his parts.

At least his shop has a bunch of TV's so we can watch car races and pretend like we are driving, making those crescendo-ing car revving noises, periodically shifting gears to a lower harmonic.

It is super tedious work and I've barely gotten started on it. It takes a full 7-8 hours just to shoot and edit a half chapters worth of photos. That doesn't even begin to account for the writing portion.

Anyways, there was no point to me posting this.

Glad you made it through to the other side.

Well make sure you get paid by the picture, not by the hour. I'd also charge $1.00 per image captured.

I signed a contract that stated that I got a % of the sales from the book. I'm working with a major publisher and an editor. I'm the writer/photographer for the book, so this isn't a contracted thing for photos... it's the whole sheeebang.

Besides, the guy i'm working with... actually owns a few of those "priceless" wonders that we were watching on TV. We are watching a program on the Mille Miglia and I commented on a car and he looks at me and says, "Want to see one?"

He takes me to his barn and BAAMMM! There's the car.

Simply incredible.
