That is the difference in generations. I remember my first camera a Kodak Brownie starflash vintage 1956. I must confess I like the digital generation much better. Developing film is and art all by itself. I will take post processing with filters and digital software to make up for my mistakes. Besides I never liked the stupid white border that was on every photo you had developed.

The film in question is Kodachrome, a color slide film. I don't think anybody was doing their own developing of that stuff.
