Question Weekly Poll: What kind of computer do you process your photos on?

Well, I'm sitting here enjoying my Easter chocolate, so the poll is pretty simple this week and doesn't require much explanation or background info

What kind of computer do you do most of your photo processing on? And why of course (otherwise I'll have nothing to say in my weekend writeup ). Oh, and any recommendations for your favourite software too

I do most of my photo processing on a Mac because I really like my Mac and my PC's monitor is just terrible. It's a pretty simple explanation from me, but it's the truth. Plus all of my photo editing software is on the Mac and I don't intend to buy it again for a PC.

Ok, now, quick answers, and if you're celebrating easter, go enjoy that chocolate!

Mac at the moment, because that is my main home machine but I use The Gimp, which would work on any of the operating systems mentioned. If I do stuff at work (either playing with photos during my breaks or for more work-focused tasks) it is Linux but still using The Gimp.

Mac G4 733
Yep, it's nearing that time to get a new one. It's crazy though, when I bought it, it was the best Mac money could buy...now an iPhone has almost as much power.

I use Photoshop CS for all my post-production. I'm a graphic designer by day, so that's another reason to come home to a Mac.

Linux/GIMP, because it's free and I'm poor, and because I have no good reasons to switch to anything else.

Macbook with a combo of Lightroom (basic editing and cataloging) and CS3 (for heavier editing). I really need to get more RAM - things get rather sluggish when I have PS and Lightroom open at the same time.

Most of my processing/editing is done on my home PC running Vista/Ubuntu. I do most of my work with the GIMP and/or Paint Shop Pro. If I'm lazy, I'll boot to Vista (the default) and edit there. If I allow any forethought, I'll boot to Ubuntu and use GIMP there. It's amazing how much faster GIMP runs in Linux.

PC, of course! These days a MAC is just an expensive PC. They run on Intel processors and use all the same software.

MacBook Pro, Aperture for management and general tweaks, CS3 for heavy lifting.

Most of my photos or all of my photos?

Why, a PC of course. I only have one computer and I can't Live for Speed on a Mac or in Linux (a racing simulator, my "main" hobby)
