Got my first Mac in November, a Macbook Pro, after years of wanting one. Using Aperture 2 since I don't have the selection chops for PS or the Gimp; will learn though. Really liking Aperture 2 though. I'm finding I can quickly process images, get to my favorites and do some deeper tweaking once there. Then exporting to Picasa web albums or Flickr is a breeze with the plugins.

For those who can't use the GIMP because of its interface there's a project called Gimpshop. It tries to replicate the Photoshop feeling by changing the interface of the GIMP.
I've never tried it but I heard it's good.

My laptop at the moment, using Photoshop Elements 5. Not ideal as what you see depends on what angle you're sitting at, but gets passable results. I was going to buy an extra screen to plug in, but spent the money on another lense instead - lol.

Default PC for Me

I use a PC, as I have for more than a decade. I don't view it as superior to any other platform. I use Photoshop Elements 6.0 for organization (backed by a folder structure) and minor editing. I wish Linux had photo suites that rivaled Adobe products (yes, other than GIMP which is very powerful indeed). I like PS Elements for its beginner to amateur all-in-one interface, and affordability, but it is not perfect.

I do most of my editing on my Mac Book Pro with Lightroom. If I want to use Photoshop I ustually do that on my Mac desktop as the Cinema Display is better than the laptop. When I started shooting digital as opposed to film I learned a great deal about digital processing by using several of Scott Kelby's books to learn Lightroom.

I'm using Lightroom on a Powerbook 1.33Ghz. I'm just starting on photography, and photoshop is a little bit further down the road for me. I like LR a lot, and runs quite quickly on my aging Mac.
