Here at the end of the year, I've been looking at my RSS reader and the photo blogs I've been following for a while and thinking about finding some new sources of inspiration. I'm drawn to people and to portrait photography and some of the blogs I follow include:
Bonnie Tsang Tara Whitney The Sartorialist But I've become more interested in landscape and urban photography and have been looking for good sources of those types of photography. I'd love to hear from others what blogs you follow and why. Thanks! |

Hey, I'll just go through my google reader and post them all here. Well, not all, but those that I follow because of the photos or the photography advice.
Some of these are NOT about photography persay, but they still have great photos that inspire me. Audrey Woulard Photography Blog The CoffeeShop Blog Texas Chicks Blogs and Pics ? I like reading David duChemin's blog, Pixelated Image

Thx for the ideas! duChemin's postcards from NZ are amazing. His post on vision was really interesting, really struck a note for me. In particular, I liked David's word "malaise." And then he says "Taking a break is healthy. Here’s what I know. We need to de-sacralize vision. It’s nothing magic. And we need to lighten up." True. The post also reminded me of something a friend said, that inspiration doesn't come to you, you have to go out and hunt for it, capture it and wrestle it into submission. Something about the visual of that got to me. Made me laugh, for one, and also made me think--sitting at home, ho-huming to myself about a lack of inspiration doesn't help. It's ok to take a break, not take everything so seriously, but then I should go out, stretch my artistic muscles, wrestle with it for a while.
That and a little armchair inspiration via photoblogs. :-) |
