It's back up now, but it was down (apparently globally) for about an hour. Google it for the whole story, but I think it had to do with the roll out of new branded pages.

facebook is now using facial recognition to tell you who your friends are... i really don't like the sound of that...

Still mashed in the UK, it's been about 2 hours now +. It all went tits up when they tried to mod the fan/business pages and ruined them with a new layout and aweful lightbox. Then they reverted to the standard style and then it went down completely.... still waiting

WOW, I hadn't heard about this one. I just googled and read a couple of articles. One said this, which is good. Most times they offer a way to opt out.

I did see that they improved the "fan pages" Now if you log in to your personal, go to your page, click log into your page, you get the red boxes notifying you of stuff. It didn't do that before.

Can't say I'm a fan. Opt-out doesn't mean a lot. It would be like someone having all your credit card details and you opt out of them being shown in public, doesn't mean they can't sit there going through them. I really don't see why a social networking site needs face recognition. I know what my friends look like.

I am, and have been for some time, convinced that facebook is a government data mining project. This new face recognition just means they can see who so******es with who without any other form of interaction.
