Default really??

Never posted here, but seemed like the place for a small rant
So went to my boyfriends moms, and the goal was to get a decent snapshot of all the grandkids (all EIGHT of them, aged 18 months to nine, 4 of them being 3 years old). nothing professional, but as nice as could be accomplished. Well, needless to say, it went horrible due to an in law of my boyfriends who hates me and my son demanding that her children be brought home when she heard we was there. so we RUSHED to get eight children lined up on the stairs, to look at me, and of course, the 18 month old is tired, and cranky, and crying.
here is where i get a little upset though. All of the pics had an adult in the back, as they were trying to calm down the youngest. i apologized to my boyfriends mother, as we didnt really get that great of shots, but i gave her the disc of them anyways to get some prints if she so chose (she works at a pharmacy and photo lab). well, she decided that she would have the lab tech, who is also a photographer edit my pictures to remove the adults from the shots she did not ask, but simply said , 'oh, she says she can edit them and remove so and so from the picture, and make them look better'. pretty much made me feel like crap, and to be perfectly honest, i dont think it was that great of an edit, but really nothing i can do at this point. i am glad she got a new pic of her grandkids, i really am, but just feeling a little bad that she let someone else edit my picture.
rant over, just really wanted to let it out somewhere that im sure people may understand

I'd probably casually mention that because you own the copyright to the photos, what the tech did was illegal. I wouldn't let on that I was that pissed (though I would be), but I would make it clear that having someone else alter my photos is not cool.

ETA: If this person works as a photo lab tech at a pharmacy, I doubt she's a photographer worth much, lol.

"No good deed goes unpunished!"

Bummer - bigger bummer is your boyfriend lets the inlaw treat you rudely.

Had this happen once on a shot I did for my step daughter. She posted it to facebook, and one of her friends decided to edit it, and make some kind of emo diptych out of it.
I was mad at first, then realized she is just a 14 year old kid that didn't realize it was a big deal. I was glad she did manage to crop out my watermark. lol!

like i said, was not a very good pic, but the situation still sucked. As for the lab tech, iv seen her stuff, and for me personally it is over processed, and same compositions over and over. but my boyfriends mom likes to brag about the lab techs equipment (its really professional you know, best money can get), and her software and whatnot. just makes me feel 2 inches tall when im over there. and really making me reconsider her xmas gift of some framed portraits iv done of the grandkids

a person that age, i would more than likely have the same reaction. there are so many little tweaks kids can do to the pictures uploaded on there now, or those apps that you upload a pic and it makes it look like a sketch etc
