Thoughts on Sally Mann?

I recently watched a documentary on Sally Mann, and her exhibit just came to the VMFA in Richmond. Personally I think she's a bit crazy, but her artwork is beyond impressive.

What sticks out to me is a story that my photography teacher told about Mann being pretty out there during an interview after a show.

This all came about since I recently took a photograph of a dead deer, which made me feel as if I was Sally Mann.

What opinions do you have of her? Have any of you met her in person?

I think she is probably more lucid than she lets on. I do agree her work is very fascinating though. She received some very polarizing reviews on the work she did with her children.
Some people found it overtly sexual. I personally felt it was rather intimate, but very benign. It also seemed rather dark, which I am kind of drawn to anyway.
