Smile Hello to all at Digital-Photography-School

Hello to all at Digital-Photography-School from Hari

Hello all,
I am a new comer into the world of DSLR photography.
For long time, I was a user "Auto" mode in my P&S camera and frankly quite lazy to shift the button to try the other advanced modes . Anyways, I had to do it once and since then I am forever searching for all new knowledge, techniques, information in this vast world of photography. Subscibed to so many mailing groups, forums and sites to grab whatever knowledge I can gain. Digital Photography School is one stop place for all information on photography and it has helped me gain lot of knowledge in this area. Many thanks to all behind this site.

Some of my photographs are here: Flickr: harikrish.h's Photostream
Since I still have normal eye sense to photo ["wow.. for all photos"] and have not yet developed a photographic eye sense , most photos I have taken or selected taken would be looking amateurish to all experts here.
Also no idea of post processing tools as of now and so all photos are straight from the camera. For me normal photo editing tool is MS paint and the advanced photo software is Irfan view and Picasa. . Lately learned little bit of HDR and started using Photomatix, created some not-so-perfect HDR photos using same.

I would love to have experts here give comments for my photos, mistakes I made, steps to improve the same and any response would be deeply appreciated.

Happy to be part of this forum. See you all...

Thanks,
Hari.

Default Welcome!

Welcome Hari. First let me say that this is a great place to come learn, just keep asking questions and you're bound to find someone here who has the answer you're looking for.

It looks to me like you've got a great start and I wouldn't say you don't completely have a photography eye sense, it's there. There are probably a few things that could be improved upon but I'd not be the person to critique, since I'm not by any means a professional.

Anyways, welcome to the forum! Looking forward to seeing more photos from you!

Welcome to DPS!

I agree with Ronie. I think your off to a really good start. The only thing that I see that pops up consistently is your horizon ( like ones with the ocean at the horizon) in some of them is a lil crooked. Picasa has a tool for this simply called straighten. Simple fix, quick and easy. Also,... if you want something a lot like Photoshop but free,...go here GIMP - Downloads

Gimp is a free download like Picasa, expect Gimp works with layers like Photoshop and can do most of what PS can do. All you have to do to find a tutorial most of the time is either search Google, or use the Help section on Gimp.

As stated above your horizon lines could use some straightening but for someone just getting started you are doing magnificently. Welcome to DPS and keep up the great work.
