Default Panisonic Commercial (gripe)

Excuse me if I am a little slow on the uptake here, but ...

The commercial for the Panisonic Lumix Cameras REALLY ticks me off.

It shows a picture of a tree and a bunch of people looking at it. Someone in the crowd says "Can you tell me what f-stop you had the apature set to?" The guy responds "Umm, pretty big."
The text on the screen then says "You don't have to be a great photographer to take amazing photos." Then some of the products are shown and the narrator (and text) say "Make Amazing Photos Easy."

AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH! Seriously?!

I saw that and was freaking appalled. I looked at my boyfriend and sighed with disgust after seeing that. I said I guess I am being a bit of a photography snob with that reaction. It ISN'T the camera, it's the person behind the camera.

Alright, I'm a little better now. (I knew where to turn to share my pain as I gripe.)

yeah, it's funny that they are degrading photographers by saying its about the camera...

actually... they don't give a crap, they are trying to sell a camera not photography books. So it's not in their best interests to say "its not about the camera"

At P&S level, I do have to agree with them.. it really IS mostly about the camera.

But, you know, some fools out there will actually believe if they purchase the camera they will take amazing pictures.

It's all about the marketing and whatever helps them sell their stuff unfortunately.

I know some fools who think it's all about the camera and they own DSLRs thinking that's what it takes to take a good photo! Frustrates me to no end.
