Default Anyone used Nvu?

Not photography related but I know people on here have designed web sites so I'm looking for advise regarding web design software.
I am a complete beginner with no experience what so ever and am going to design a very simple web site for work with absolutely no budget. The great thing for me is the chance to try my hand at some product photography for the site as well as maybe some portraits and candids of the workers and some architecture type photos of the factory. Also, the learning experience of the web design if I ever decide to have my own web site.

I have found Nvu which is an open source program so it is free, which gets us started on the right footing, and the blurb says it is very easy to learn and understand. Does anybody have any experience with it and can tell me whether it is a good tool to use or are there better programs out there (in the same price bracket ).

I;ve used Nvu for web site with mixed success, I ended up just spending the money and buying Dreamweaver. About ten tmes as good and lots of support and templates.

Professional web designers dont play with cheap freebees.

Cheers,

Thanks John.

As I say, I'm certainly not professional and I have no budget to go and buy any software. I'll give Nvu a go as I really want to keep the site as simple as possible. It's only really going to be used for a contact point for distributors who are interested in heat pumps.
