Default craigslist for gear?

Just curious how often you buy gear on Craigslist? I bought a new lens on Craigslist for a good price, however, I would worry about buying a camera on there. Anyone have any success or luck? what is an acceptable clicker count number in your opinion?

I bought my camera on Kijiji (similar to craigslist) but I was able to go and inspect the camera before taking it home and the seller sent me recent photos taken with the camera before I even met him. I would be worried if I had to buy sight unseen and have it shipped to me.

One of my associates purchase cameras and lens on Craig's list all the time. He gets some pretty good deals. But, if it's locally, he check outs the gear before putting his money on the table.

There's some great deals to be had on craigslist.

ONLY if I can pick it up/pay in person, or if I can go thru PayPal and it's something relatively cheap/foolproof (e.g. I bought a Think Tank Retrospective 30 bag for $100)

I just sold gear and other things on Craig’s list. My camera and lens were in pristine condition, with all original enclosures in box, as well as a few extras. 25,000 shutter actuation.

The buyer inspected the camera while I showed a photo book make with shots from same. Got full asking price.

I would have no problem purchasing used gear IF I could personally inspect it.

You definitely can get good deals on craigslist and stay patient....some sellers just want to gouge you and others really want to sell their stuff and it's in very good condition
