I am the first to agree. The question was more related to the apps that all the good people here are always recommending - I am using the DOF calculator far less often as my brain gets much better at remembering things, but the DPS app (to see what all the other good people here are writing about and to each other), the facebook photo uploader etc....

And I have still never taken a photo on a mobile that I have really been impressed with. Hey sometimes it is better than not having any photo when there isn't a DSLR lying around in your pocket next to said phone...

I also found a free DOF calculator. But the PHOforPHO app that lputman mentioned is free and the best I have found. You will need to research to find the COC for your camera. Try the On One DSLR Camera Remote software, it is a great piece of software. It is useful for self-portraits or to show a parent a recent shot without crowding around your laptop.
