Default Funny Question from my DD's homeschool book

I know this is not photography related, but I am just amazed at this.
Honest to goodness, this is a real question in her english book. I am copying it word for word.

A boy picks you up for a date. As you are walking to the car, he forgets to open the door for you. What do you do?
A. Remind him to open the door
B. Open it yourself
C. Stand patiently until he remembers

What the heck??? What does this have to do with English?? I understand that even though it is not 1950 anymore, things like this might be good lessons for children, but shouldn't it be a seperate subject all on its own?
They even have a little illustration of a girl standing next to a car.

She answered B. But the key says that the correct answer is C.

We are definitely getting a different curriculum soon. I cannot stand this one.

I almost snorted coffee at the monitor!

Did the question have anything to do with a reading assignment? I could see having a question like that if she had just been reading an article/story in which such a situation had been discussed.

And, yes, I believe the proper answer is C, but that's just me, and not a reflection on my attitudes toward interaction between the sexes.

No, it was just a random page in the middle of all the parts of speech lessons that she was doing.
