I got to meet him when his exhibit was here (The Hague) and have been to a lecture he gave in his studio/home in Amsterdam. Pretty laid back cool guy for being so awesome.
There's this element of crafter surrealism to much of his stuff that I just wish I could achieve 1% of! And the subtlety of his lighting (and PP techniques) is stunning to me especially in his "Hope" series and when I saw his "Fashion Victims" (NSFW so no link!) hugely blown up.. it was.. um.. mind numbing. Lately on flickr I've been into Brian Storey, Phamster, and always Lou O'Bedlam. |
