BooHooHoo, I still only have the crappy kit lens (18-55). I need to get off my arse and buy that f/1.4 nifty fifty!

By the way Nicole, do those focal length relate to 35mm equivalent or based on ~1.6-1.8 FOV crop on digital camera's?...this would change my poll answer.

I tried to encompass all of the focal lengths with and without the crop factor, though I realize that it doesn't do that on the "normal" lens lengths (they started getting confused with the portrait lenses if I did it that way). So my personal way of looking at it was the number on my lens

I have my 18-135mm on my camera all the time. It is what I use most of the time. I do love my 50mm though.

I've been using my nifty fifty a lot recently, but only because I've been doing a lot of portrait pictures

Default Choice of Lens

I use my telephoto a lot more because I take a great deal of my pics at concerts or parades. Also, when I'm taking shots of my grandkids, especially indoors, I don't want to be right on top of them and using the telephoto allows me to back it up or zoom in on their faces. When I'm indoors and sitting across the room from them, I find this also allows the flash to disperse better.
