I am chuffed to bits having a lovely double page spread in my daughter's school newsletter showing my firework pics. (see my flickr for a selection).
I even got given a box of Roses chocs for my troubles. One thing on the night though, my tripod leg fell off! I tested all my equip before we left (good tip from Jim B) and everything was fine and so when we got to the display and I set my tripod up one of the clamps that adjusts the height flew off into the grass causing the whole leg to come right away?? ![]() Fortunately no camera was on luckily. Finally mangaged to find it with my torch, scrambling on hands and knees! Got all set up with literally seconds to spare hearing the count down, 10...9....8..7 eek!I was really pleased with my pics and was up til midnight editing them all and emailed them off to the school. I'm no pro but I do try and when I see other photos like this: Fireworks Photos & Video It makes me feel that I can do a better job. Not that Andover Sound had a pro either, probably just a member of their team with a p&s but still. It makes me feel better.

Thank's guys and gals. One thing I have learnt since is that I need a wider lens like may be between 10mm and 17mm and have the lens "portrait"orientation but well, you live and learn.
Thanks for your comments. I do appreciate it and it's all good for me to get some external "exposure" pardon the pun
