Broken pixels in LCD screen?

I've notice that sometimes when I take a photo, especially something in the dark, that sometimes its like there are broken pixels on my LCD screen. They usually show up as a red, blue, or green dot, sometimes white. I've seen these transfer to the photo on the memory card. I'm wondering if its something that has somehow gotten into the lens, or the camera body and is messing with the sensor. This is on my lil P&S as I'm searching and saving for a DSLR. But since it's all I've got at the moment, I'm kinda wondering what this could be. It doesnt normally affect things in normal light, just low light.
