Default Good Portfolio Site?

I'm currently using WIX right now to display my online portfolio and some basic information about me. I'm not happy with it, but it's free. I really don't like that everything is based in flash and can make load times long.

What other free (or really cheap) services are out there for displaying your online portfolio?

I could build it, but then I would need to pay someone to host it. What I'm looking for is a free (or cheap) service that is user friendly and will allow me to display a portfolio online.

Display only, or display and sales?

FWIW, "really cheap" isn't usually the best way to go.

The old saying goes: "The choices are Good, Fast, Cheap. Pick any two"

He simply asked if anyone knew of a free (or cheap) site he could use but you, YOU had the greatest solution of all time! "Build one"...fantastic advise! I was going to go car shopping today but "build one" sounds like a such an awesome solution!

"Build one"...real nice...

For now, display only. Eventually I'll be looking for display and sales, but I'm still ramping up to that.

When I first started, I used PBASE.com. I still use it for some things. There are levels from Free to expensive.

Jim B. - $30/month for hosting and sales isn't that pricy, but would I still need to pay someone to build the site that gets hosted or does usahosting provide that as part of the fee?

Jim P. Looks like pbase only gives you a 30 day trial, maybe that's new and your account was grandfathered in.

Thank you for spending the time to actually provide a solution to my problem.
