Default consistency in photos

I am just curious if the photos you take consistently turn out the same? In terms of style. I am just learning some photo editing stuff but find that most of my pictures when I feel like they are done and look complete, turn out differently. Not differently in terms of black and white or color but saturation, etc. So do you worry about consistency or its nothing to be concerned about?

What is different about them? If you take a well exposed shot and do the same PP steps to them, they should look roughly the same...

I always try to keep my PP results consistent, especially when it comes to colours and saturation. I always try to keep them natural, but I'm not quite good at it.
I think you could say that everyone has their style, some like to produce photos with washed out colours and low contrast, and again, some like to push it further.

I think you'll get consistent images within arcs of eachother or with consistent use of auto modes, in early stages.

There are a lot of different places in your workflow that lend to consistency in different ways. The questions I'd be asking is how are your images consistent how are they not?

If you're working to find new methods or subject matter and the like you'll get inconsistent results. If you're staying in a comfort zone, I doubt you'll find much inconsistency.

If youre working for a style or look, consistency shows up again. I suppose I should clarify I mean q consistent visual quality. It is also possible to be consistent in technique, ie exposure, focus, shot discipline. This kind of consistency comes with time and practice. Just be careful to correct faults. I'm trying inconsistently to correct old learned issues

Throughout your photography journey, you'll find that your style and techniques may change many many times.
I find that I go thru fazes of what I like, how I take a photo and how I finalize my ending results. As each faze continues, you learn more and more. I also find that thru each faze I have gone thru that particular technique will show thru on each image. Thereby giving you that personalized style thats all your own

I think that is were my problem is. I need a little bit better exposure, especially in low lighting. I have been mostly shooting kids for fun but I tagged along to a wedding and the lighting was not good so the PP looks different.

Are you shooting in manual?

For example, I shot for a red carpet 21st birthday party on Saturday night and my flash portrait settings were consistently 1/60th F5.0 ISO 1000.

In Lightroom I did the typical +70 contrast I do on portraits, and fix any differences in exposure due to local lighting and flash distance, typically only +/- 1/3 stop.

Here's some examples Flickr: Nick Bedford's stuff tagged with elevator

Manual is one of the best ways to make your exposure consistent enough that little corrections to it in your editing suite can make the photoshoot come out great.
