40K?? I get the point but this is just obscene. And I thought our government was the only ones getting painfully rich off their own people.

While that fine seems pretty excessive, it pretty much guarantees that nobody will do it again. After all, why have a rule if the consequence is just a slap on the wrist.
Isn't "do not interfere with your subject" one of the first rules of journalism anyway?

Not to mention the serious consequences of her actions. 6 dingoes had to be put down because of the way their behaviour changes and they start attacking people. This, in turn, leads to incidents like this: Boy Killed In Dingo Attack | Home | Sky News Therefore it's not hard to see why such a harsh fine would be imposed to someone who consistently flouted the law for a period of over a year, seemingly without any regard for what her actions might entail.

Hello All,
Yes it does seen a bit hot on the face of it. However dingoes are a real problem for tourists and campers on Fraser Island. Google Maps They are renowned scavengers and will attack anything or anyone to get a feed. Kids are particularly vunerable and we all know kids like to go wandering and explore. Dingoes, Dingo Pictures, Dingo Facts - National Geographic As a pack animal, they will attack when the odds are in their favour. It is a well known and advertised issue in the area, so there is not a lot of excuses you can put forward. Cheers, John W
