Default Can people steal photos off of your flickr?

I see many of you with links to your flickr, so I'm doubting this is the case, but just to be on the safe side....

People can steal photos from anywhere, which is why a lot of people watermark their images.

Yup, we grab each others photos all the time from flickr to help with edits etc..... if they are on the net, they are easily taken. There are things you can do to protect them, but even any security feature can be cheated in some form or another. Only good thing is they are usually lower resolution

The above replies both are true. ( A screen shot or snip and you can copy a photo. ) But Flickr does have a built in feature against right clicks. I know this because I've accidentally done this on my own photos and it popped up with them being copyright protected. Mine are all whatever resolution they come out of my camera, but every one that I care about is watermarked. NOTHING goes on my Flickr or Facebook without a watermark.

I only post photos to flickr that are about 600 pixels on their widest side and I watermark (most of the time). It is not fail proof, but that's the best I can do.

It's a nice feature that gives the illusion of security, but it does bugger all when you can just save the page from the browser's menu and get the image file that way. Not to mention the fact that they didn't bother to put the disable right click on the page where you can view different sizes (one like this).

Or simply tell firefox to ignore it when someone tries to disable right clicks. Flickr is particularly annoying, because their crappy right click menu pops under the regular Firefox one.

If you can see it, you can copy it.

Anything you see (read, watch, hear, look at) online can be downloaded and saved, it's just a question of knowing how to do it. Best protection is to upload small resolutions at 72dpi and maybe watermark them.

P.S. I just tried it with the last version of Firefox, and I can't drag a photo from Flickr to my desktop, it doesn't work. It's not that I don't know how to do it, I'm just saying.
