Hi,
Which is better to avoid dust on the sensor? Do you keep the lens attached to your cam or not? And which is better to put your camera in a closet, in th original box or in a bag? Thanks! |

I always keep the lens on the camera, if I am using my long lens then I always change back to my wide-angle lens before putting it back in the camera bag. This is mostly because it fits better although its usually the lens I want on the camera when I first pull it out of the bag.

I don't think it matters whether a lens is attached or not, as long as when the lens isn't on, you're using the body cap--that's what it's there for. And I use my cameras often enough that they're always in the bag or out. They're never in the closest or the box.

When not using I keep mine stored with the body caps on and caps on the lenses.

My lens is always on my camera, sitting on the kitchen peninsula for use virtually every day. Rarely use a lens cap when the lens is on the camera, because these are a pain. Keep the solar hood and a UV filter on for protection. Stored lenses and cameras have lens caps on them.
I keep all original boxes and packing materials in pristine condition for eventual sale of the camera or lens. |

I keep the lenses on the body, I also never change a lens with it turned on (acts like a black hole sucking dirt). I am however very particular about making sure the front lens cap is on.

Lens is always on the camera. Lens cap on. In the camera bag within easy reach.
